The students shown in the photos above were attending a class taught by Lois Vincent. Lois teaches at her local quilt shop, Quiltmakers (owned by Barb Lucas), in Fishers, Indiana. Lois made the lovely quilt hanging in the background of the photo on right, combining her wonderful taste in fabrics with the Odd Fellow's Star design from V225 (Tissue Paper Foundations). Lois isolated one of the poinsettia flowers from her holiday print, and placed it in the center of each of the setting squares. She then cut up the same fabric to create the smaller stars. The contrasts within this print fabric really allowed the stars to "twinkle". She finished up by framing her quilt with the same print , and I think you'll agree that the final product is a really wonderful quilt. Thanks Lois for the great inspiration!! As you can see by the blocks created by her students, she obviously inspired them as well. |
