Eleanor Malone's Clamshell Variation Quilt
During June of 2001, I traveled to Wichita, Kansas to lecture and teach. While I was in Wichita, Eleanor Malone was a student in one of my classes, called The Charm of Hand-Piecing. In early October 2001, Eleanor traveled to Virginia. While she was there, we met for lunch at which time she showed me this lovely quilt. It was started in June when she attended my class, and was totally hand pieced and hand quilted by the time she showed it to me - less than four months later. Eleanor had been collecting charm packs of Jinny Beyer fabrics for several years, and thought that this clamshell variation was the perfect way to use these fabrics. She grouped four fabrics of the same color/value to create the pinwheel effect. GREAT JOB! Thanks Eleanor - you're a real inspiration!!!
Eleanor used my 3" Clamshell (V205) pattern to make her beautiful quilt.
